Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m Dr. Whitney Welder, OD here to guide you through all of your pressing eye questions.
First, a little about me, I’m a Wahpeton High School alum and graduated with a biology degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Most recently, I graduated in May from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. I spent 3.5 years in Philadelphia, PA at The Eye Institute and then did several clinicals all over the place, from North Carolina to Hawaii to Alaska. The people may be unique in different parts of the country, but the eyes are similar. I had an excellent time exploring more of the country, but it’s good to be home.
I have enjoyed seeing patients at the Wahpeton office 2 days a week for the summer since graduating in May 2025. It’s been nice to connect with many familiar faces and help with their eye care. I have enjoyed the approach to patient care at Prairie Vision, as its as patient centered as possible. This means an emphasis on an individual’s needs, preferences and values. At Prairie Vision Center, we strive to have open communication and active patient involvement in care.
Please note, I am an optometrist, but I’m not necessarily your optometrist. Any advice in the above blog post is not meant to be taken as personalized medical advice. Come see me or one of the great eye doctors at Prairie Vision Center for more personalized care.
